A catch-all email mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to inactive addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody mistypes it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and in this way you’ll never miss emails because the other party has an obsolete email address or has made a typo. The downside of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of unsolicited messages, but this problem can be resolved using anti-spam filtering software. It is also important to bear in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot redirect inbound email messages to a 3rd-party address.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
Configuring a catch-all email mailbox will be extremely easy in case you’ve got a shared hosting service with us. You can enable this feature through our advanced, yet simple-to-use Email Manager, which is built into the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you’ll administer your hosting account. You will find all the email addresses that you’ve created shown alphabetically and next to each of them there will be a small-size "Catch-all" icon, which will instantly reveal to you if a particular mailbox gets all the emails associated with a given domain or not. With a single mouse click on the icon you can enable or disable the feature at any moment. In case there’s activated email forwarding or if another mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a certain domain, you will receive a warning notice from our system. The latter won’t replace/disable anything automatically or without your approval.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
A catch-all address can be configured with a few clicks in case you have a semi-dedicated hosting service with our company. The semi-dedicated hosting account will be managed through our custom-developed Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you will be able to set up email addresses with any domain name hosted here. To enable the catch-all functionality for a mailbox, you will need to click on the icon with the exact same name, which will be on the right side of each mailbox. Deactivating the feature can be accomplished in the exact same manner and will not take more than one click either. If the catch-all option has already been enabled for a given domain name, you will get a warning. The same is valid if the mailbox that you wish to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never deactivate or alter any feature automatically.
